Located in the Helen and Arch Brown Centre for Visual Art, at Georgian College's Barrie Campus, Jewellery and Metals is one of six programs in the School of Design and Visual Art. The 8,000 sq.ft. D.G. Billes Jewellery Studio features the equipment essential for today’s jewellery design and production. Acclaimed faculty teach through lectures, demonstrations and inspiration. Most importantly, however, they allow students to explore techniques and their talent through studio courses and assignments. A secure, 525-bed student residence is located on campus, within steps of the jewellery studios.

An annual field trip to Tucson, Arizona for the Gem and Mineral Show (the world's largest) is strongly encouraged. A trip to London, England with visits to the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Gilbert Collection and the British Crown Jewels, is held every three years. These field trips enhance the learning opportunities and practical initiatives of the programs.
